With the aim of hooking laptop users of small and medium-size companies, the Palo Alto, California-based Hewlett-Packard (HP) has launched the ProBook s-series - a new line of its low-priced business notebooks, with fresh features. The ProBook substitutes HP’s Compaq line, though the company will continue with the Compaq name a master brand name in its other PCs.

The world's largest provider of IT products and services, Hewlett-Packard yesterday launched its ProLiant G6 server line in the Indian market. The Hewlett-Packard claimed that the new line of its ProLiant G6 servers is equipped with new technology that helps doubling the performance of new servers, against the previous generation servers.

One of the largest technology companies in the world, Hewlett-Packard (HP) yesterday rolled out its ultra-thin-12.1-inch HP Pavilion dv2 notebook PC in India. The diminutive, “size zero notebook,” the HP Pavilion dv2 is just 1-inch thin and weighs mere 1.64 kgs, less than four pounds.

Speaking of the HP Pavilion dv2 notebook, Diptesh Ghosh, category head, consumer notebook, HP Personal Systems Group (PSG) India said, “This is a perfect notebook meant for consumers who value a mix of mobility, entertainment, and productivity – at a competitive price.”

Leading commercial note book maker, HP India launched a new Elite Book Notebook PC series, targeting high class business professionals in corporate sector.

The notebooks, with 15 hour battery life, are provided with all day to day use facilities and designed to withstand instant temperature increase, vibrations and humidity problems, using cutting edge technology in its manufacturing process.

It has come to light that HP, the well known computer manufacturer will ship its upcoming Mini netbook models with Windows only dropping the Linux operating system.

Reportedly, the new HP Mini 1000 netbook and HP Mini 700 would be equipped with Windows XP only. The customers will however get a choice between Windows XP and Vista, if they opt for HP Mini 2140.

HP has introduced three new Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) products in the market. The products, namely T1000v, T1500 and R3000v are designed to offer ease of use, manageability and reliability. These products would help HP to build its portfolio in the Network-Critical Physical Infrastructure sector.

The newly launched products would offer high power efficiency and cooling optimization at affordable prices. These would enhance its datacenter solutions and management capabilities in the market.
