Swine Flu: UP govt ask people not to panic

Swine fluThe government of Uttar Pradesh said that it have taken all the effective steps to counter the outburst and treatment of swine flu in the state.

Speaking on this, State Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta said: “Out of 13 samples collected only one patient has tested positive for swine flu. There is no reason for panic as the government has taken all necessary measures to check outbreak of the pandemic.”

Gupta said that a high-level meeting under the chairmanship of Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar was held recently to discuss swine flu situation and preparations to fight the menace.

He added that isolation wards have been set up in all medical colleges and district hospitals in the state. The government had identified Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences to test the samples of swine flu in the state.

Apart from this, the government has also set up a rapid response teams (RRT) of doctors in every district.

The official further informed that all the hospitals and dispensaries in the state are being equipped with the necessary drugs.
