A girl, allegedly into flesh trade and held by Delhi Police on Wednesday, managed to escape from All India Institute of Medical Sciences Trauma Centre.

She had been brought there by the police for medical attention after she complained of shooting pain in one leg.

She was held along with three other alleged sex workers, including two foreign nationals, from a guesthouse at L-30 in Mahipalpur Extension village. All the women are in the age group of 18-25.

Police said they raided the place at 10.15 pm on Wednesday after a brawl between a villager and the guesthouse owner.

Police said following the brawl at 365 Inn, the guesthouse, villagers of the area gathered there demanding entry and shouting that they suspected some illegal activities were going on inside.

One of the girls, who is reportedly from Bhopal, tried to escape by jumping from the first floor of the building.

The locals caught her. Satbir Singh, who lives right next to the guesthouse, said: "We saw her running and caught her. Illegal activities have been happening here for a long time."

She was handed over to the police who took her and the three others to Vasant Kunj police station.

The girl from Bhopal there complained of shooting pain in the leg. She was taken to AIIMS Trauma Center from where she managed to escape.

"She was admitted in hospital and under the care of hospital staff. She was not formally arrested," said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity, as he is not authorized to speak to the media. "We are investigating how she managed to escape."

Police are trying to find the kingpin of the racket.

Police said most of the clientele were foreign tourists who were brought by pimps directly from the airport. Police said the girls were also sent to farmhouses.

The two foreign national girls are from Russia.
