Samsung releases three Bada powered smartphones
South Korean Electronics giant, Samsung has released three new smartphones powered by its own `Bada' operating system as part of its efforts to reduce its heavily reliance on Google Android as well as to increase its market share in the low-end segment.
The company showcased the Wave 3 as well as more affordable Wave M and Wave Y models on Tuesday. The Wave 3 will come with a huge 4-inch AMOLED screen and a 5 megapixel camera while Wave M will have the new instant messaging tool chatON, which will connect its devices to iOS devices and BlackBerry phones.
The Wave Y comes with a decent 3.2-inch display. The smartphones will go on sale from October and will join the 7 Wave series lineups launched by the company since first bada-powered product went on sale in May 2010.
The company aims to offer both the software and hardware to its customers and is aiming to integrate different products of smartphones, televisions, printers and computers under its own software platform and online application store Samsung Apps.
