Judgment in second Nithari case to be delivered on April 25

Ghaziabad, April 15: The judgment in second Nithari rape and murder case of 8-year-old Aarti will be delivered by a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Judge on April 25.

Aarti was the last known victim in the Nithari killings, having disappeared just about two months before the case was busted.

In the previous judgment in the Nithari killings, the special CBI court on February 12 awarded the death sentence to Moninder Singh Pandher and Surinder Koli for their respective roles in the Rampa Haldar murder case.

Just like in Halder murder case, the CBI has given a clean chit to Pandher primarily on the basis of his cellphone records, while holding only Koli guilty of the crime.

Villagers in Uttar Pradesh get employment under rural employment actDarshan nagar village/Madna village (Faizabad), Apr 13: The Uttar Pradesh Government is involving villagers in digging of a sewage line and a pond to generate employment.

In Darshan Nagar village under the Purabazar province in Faizabad district, a sewage line is being dug in front of the concrete houses.

The construction work is being done under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) promoted by the Ministry of Rural Development.

IJP candidate from UP''s Jaunpur seat found hanging from treeLucknow, Apr 13 : The body of an Indian Justice Party (IJP) nominee for the Jaunpur Lok Sabha constituency was found hanging from a tree on Monday.

Forty-eight-year-old Bahadur Sonkar''s body was found near Raja Ka Talab, barely 500 metres from his home in Ahiyapur-Rasheedabad locality, 200 km from here.

Central observers of the Jaunpur Lok Sabha seat have reached the spot and are investigating the case.

Priyanka Gandhi backs Rahul for Prime Minister

Priyanka Gandhi Amethi, Apr 12 : Priyanka Gandhi on Sunday gave some indications of possibility of her brother and Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi becoming Prime Minister one day.

"I have full faith in my brother. He is hardworking. He is, according to me, qualified for the post. So, one day he will. He will do a good job of it," she told reporters while campaigning for Rahul Gandhi in Amethi parliamentary constituency.

Priyanka, however, added that Manmohan Singh would assume the post, if Congress comes back to power.

Sandalwood trees found axed near Taj Mahal

Sandalwood trees found axed near Taj Mahal  Agra, Apr 11 : Fifteen sandalwood trees in the Shah Jahan garden near the Taj Mahal have been found axed here. Two employees of the garden have been accused of the act.

As per the Supreme Court orders the area near the Taj Mahal is declared as a `Green Belt' and gardens have been developed there.

Enquiries are being conducted into the matter.
