On Thursday, the Rajasthan cabinet took the decision to implement the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations from this month, which will definitely prove to be a bonanza for the employees and pensioners of the state government.
It was revealed by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore that over seven lakh government employees and nearly three lakh pensioners would benefit from this decision.
After he had attended the Cabinet meeting the minister said, “The report would be implemented with retrospective effect and would entail an additional burden of Rs 4920 crore annually on the state exchequer.”

The lake, which is located about 110 kms from Rajasthan capital Jaipur, has been a good source for acquiring quality salt since the days of the British Raj.
It is said to be one of its kind in Asia.
The heritage lake requires immediate conservation, as it has acquired a reputation for producing the best salt in the country.
Bikaner, Sept 8 : Congress president Sonia Gandhi today inaugurated Rajasthan’s first lignite ‘opencast’ mine of a total capacity of 2.1 million tonnes in Barsingsar village in Bikaner district. The lignite mine has been set up by “Mini Ratna” Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) Limited.
The lignite mine will produce 250 Megawatts of power, 2190 million units of electricity per year, through two units of thermal power plant, of 125 MW each. While the first unit of the plant will be commissioned in December, the second would start functioning in March next year.
In connection with the May thirteenth blasts in Jaipur, in which sixty people died, Rajasthan police together with Central Security agencies detained two persons, including one doctor.
According to the sources in the investigating team said that the doctor, who had completed his internship from AIIMS in July this year, had helped the terror group in procuring the explosive material, Ammonium Nitrate used in the serial blasts.
