Bihar protests against Raj ThackerayPatna, Oct 23 : Protests erupted in Bihar’s Nalanda District on Thursday in retaliation to attacks on migrants in Mumbai.

The mob went on a rampage, vandalizing public property and damaging vehicles.

Protesters brandishing sticks and logs of wood marched on the streets and chanted slogans, demanding strict action against Raj Thackeray, chief of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), for inciting violence against people from north Indian region in Mumbai.

Apart from mending footwear, ‘Dr.’ Doman Das is also known for making best quality shoes. He has been into this profession for last 40 years. He prepares shoes as per client’s desire and requirement.

Potters in Patna gear up for ‘diwali’ sale

Patna, BiharPatna, Oct 17 : Potters in Bihar’s Patna are gearing up for Diwali, the festival of light, as the festive season increases their sale of traditional earthen lamps.

Small time potters earn between four thousand to five thousand rupees during the festive season and they wait eagerly for this time of the year.

"We wait eagerly for this time of the year so that we can make earthen lamps and pots, and make some money during the festival time," said Vedi Pandit, a potter.

Bihar government approves Rs 197 crore to plug breach in Kosi

Agricultural scientists team to assess flood-affected areas in BiharPatna, Sept 26 : The Centre will send an agricultural scientists team to Bihar to review the losses in the flood-affected areas in the state.

Agriculture Secretary T. Nand Kumar has said that there was a shortfall in Kharif area coverage this year due to late arrival of monsoon and floods in some parts of the country.

Giving details about damage, he said 2.5 lakh hectares area has been damaged in Bihar and more than one lakh in Orissa and Assam due to floods.
