Islamabad, Mar. 26 : It is still not clear whether Pakistani players will be playing in the second season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) or not, as Pak Federal Minister for Sports, Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani has said that a final decision in this regard would be taken in the coming two to three days.
Jilani said that following the IPL’s shift to South Africa, the government may rethink its stand on over the issue.
Dera Ismail Khan (Pakistan): At least six persons were reportedly killed and ten others injured when a suicide bomber triggered a massive blast in a hotel in Jandola area.
According to sources all the six people killed in the attack belonged to the Turkish Bunty group.
The injured have been admitted to a local and district headquarters hospital, The News reports.
However, some sources have claimed that 11 people were killed in the attack.
Lahore, Mar. 26 : Banned Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Asif may be slapped with a hefty fine for not producing relevant immigration documents before a special committee looking into his Dubai detention case.
According to The Nation, Asif told a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) committee that he was not facing any ban to enter Dubai, on which the committee asked for the relevant documents which he has not tabled before it as yet.
Asif was asked for the documents, as a visa is not considered a proper proof of clearance for entering the United Arab of Emirates (UAE). ]
Washington, Mar. 26 : The United States is no mood to discontinue the Predator drone attacks in along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border as it is busy in preparing a list of new targets for the strikes.
According to US officials, the list is being prepared as a part of the Obama Administration’s decision to revamp its strategy for the region.
Pakistan has repeatedly said that the drone attacks are proving counterproductive in the ‘war on terror’ as it has resulted in killing of several innocent people in the tribal region along the Afghanistan border.
Quetta, Mar. 26 : Problems for former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf seem to be increasing day by day following the filing of a petition in the Supreme Court seeking his trial on sedition charges.
Addressing a press conference with the PPP leader Nabeel Gabool here, National People’s Party Senator Sanaullah Zehri Zehri accused Musharraf of plotting the murder of Akbar Bugti and said he would soon file a case in this regard.
