Karachi, Mar. 27 : While a volley of treason cases are being filed in Pakistan against the former President General Pervez Musharraf, legal experts in the country believe that the autocratic ruler may never be tested.

Legal experts have termed the idea of initiating sedition cases against Musharraf as `wishful' thinking.

Karachi, Mar. 27: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued a notice to former President General Pervez Musharraf, his close associate and advisor Sharifuddin, and former attorney general Malik Qayyum Pirzada while hearing a high treason petition.

The division bench comprising of Chief Justice Anwar Jamali and Justice Karim Agha while hearing a constitutional petition filed by Awami Himayat Tehreek Pakistan chief Iqbal Haider ordered the respondents to file in their reply by April 14.

Islamabad/Mingora, Mar. 27 : The Taliban is preventing UN officials from promoting polio treatment in northern Pakistan, triggering a medical emergency in the area.

Taliban militants in the former tourist destination of Swat Valley have obstructed officials from vaccinating over 300,000 children, reports The Telegraph. '' Militants have seized control of most of Swat and its capital, Mingora, and have extended their rule since striking a peace deal with the government and army earlier this year.

Islamabad, Mar. 27 : Pakistan has asked the United States to stop launching unilateral drone attacks in the country's tribal areas, as the strikes are damaging Islamabad's plan to defeat terrorism through popular support.

"We have raised the issue very forcefully with the US and conveyed the sentiments of the Pakistani people, and especially that these (drone attacks) are counter-productive," the Daily Times quoted Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit, as saying.
