Woman cadet leads passing out parade for the first time in PunePune, Mar 5 : Harleen Chopra of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) created history today by becoming the first-ever Indian woman cadet to command a passing out parade in Pune.

Chopra, a medical cadet, commanded the parade of 103 graduates who would be commissioned into the Armed Forces Medical Services.

"Basically it is an honour and a privilege to be doing this in my college. I once again thank all those who were responsible for guiding me throughout this process," said Chopra.

Hospitalised Thackeray likely to be discharged on FridayMumbai, Mar 4 : Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray is likely to be discharged from Mumbai''s Lilavati Hospital on Friday, doctors attending on him said today.

"Thackeray is doing fine, but will be discharged after one or two days," Dr Narendra Trivedi, Vice-President and hospital spokesperson said.

Thackeray, who is undergoing treatment for weakness and fever had to be kept in the ICU for complete rest.

However, according to Trivedi, now he is doing fine and meeting friends and relatives

Satyam to invite bids for strategic partner, says KarnikMumbai, Mar 2 : Satyam Computers Chairman Kiran Karnik said on Monday that the company board is planning to invite bids for a strategic investor in the next few days.

"We plan to invite bids in the next few days (and) have worked out the modalities for that, which now needs SEBI approval," he said.

The funding from this investor will lend further financial stability to Satyam, added Karnik.
