Suicide bomber kills 32 Shias in PakistanLahore, Feb 6 : At least 32 people were killed in a suspected suicide bombing at Dera Gazi Khan mosque on Thursday.

Police said the blast-targeted dozens of Shias who had converged at the Al Hussainia Mosque after dark, shortly before a prayer meeting.

Although there was no immediate claim of responsibility, police were swift to blame sectarian extremists for the tragedy.

"Ninety-nine percent it looks like a suicide attack," Shaukat Javed, Inspector General of Punjab Police, said.

PML-Q sets conditions for power-sharing deal with PPP in Punjab

Lahore, Feb. 5 : The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) has set several conditions for a possible alliance with the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) in Punjab, a private TV channel has claimed.

The channel quoted a close aide of PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain as saying that the party had set certain terms for a possible power-sharing deal with the PPP, including dissolution of the Punjab Government.

PML-Q Punjab President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said his party would decide whether to support the PPP or the PML-N on the basis of the Supreme Court's verdict in the eligibility case of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

According to the Daily Times, El Baradei expressed his fear over the security of nuclear weapons in Pakistan. He said that India and Israel should participate in every step taken for nuclear disarmament and the Indo-Pak nuclear issue could be resolved under the `international framework'.

PPP, PML-Q agree to form government in Pak PunjabLahore, Feb 3 : The ruling Pakistan People's Party and the PML-Q have agreed in principle to form a government in Punjab, and on other important issues, particularly the district government system.

PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi will settle details of the accord with the PPP leadership.

It was decided after the negotiations that the district nazims of Punjab would hold a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr on February 7, and make him aware of their reservations regarding the PML-N and its Punjab leadership in particular.

The group, which includes "anyone who made any suspicious contacts inside India as the attacks began", would be charged under Pakistan's cyber crimes laws because suspects used Internet phones to communicate, ABC News quoted an unidentified senior intelligence official, as saying.
