Dismissed Venkatesh Joins BJPIn a significant move, dismissed member of the National Commission for Women (NCW) Nirmala Venkatesh on Thursday joined the BJP in Bangalore.

BJP’s Karnataka Unit Mahila Morcha general secretary Mangala Sridhar admitted Venkatesh into the party.

Confirming the development, Mangala Sridhar said, “Nirmala has been admitted into the BJP and will campaign for the party in the parliamentary poll to expose the Congress.”

However, no top leader from BJP was present when she joined the party at its office.

Bangalore, Mar 5 : Former National Commission for Women (NCW) member Nirmala Venkatesh, who on Monday had criticised the government for sacking her over the Mangalore pub attack probe, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.

She has further expressed her interest to contest the coming Lok Sabha elections, if she is given a ticket.

Terming the rejection of her interim report on the Mangalore pub attacks as a "deep political conspiracy", Venkatesh said, " I am being made a political victim. I am deeply hurt and shocked."

Subhash Projects wins order worth Rs 69.37 Crore

Subhash Projects And Marketing LtdSubhash Projects And Marketing Ltd (SPML), an infrastructure development company in India, has secured an order worth Rs 69.37 crore from the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board, Karnataka.

The scope of work includes supply and execution of 1,168 mm diameter M. S. Rising Main from Jack well at Saundatti to Water Treatment Plant at Amminabhavi.

In addition, the project involves design, construction, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, trial run and maintenance of 68 million litres a day capacity water treatment plant for a period of 12 months.
