Srinagar, Apr. 6: Jammu and Kashmir’s famed Nageen Lake is being cleaned under the conservation drive of Nageen Lake Conservation Organization, which is a forum of several voluntary bodies.
NLCO that started its cleaning drive on March 31 has reached in its sixth day.
“NLCO and others have started this drive here. It has been six days. And we have taken out a lot of polythene. It has been six days. Today people from NLCO and SMC were also here. We have done a lot of cleaning,” Jan Mohamed a volunteer in the drive said.
Jammu, April 2 : The hate speech of Varun Gandhi did not threaten national security in anyway and a law other than the National Security Act could have been invoked to deal with it, says Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
In the course of a Press Conference at Jammu, Omar Abdullah said, "Varun Gandhi should face the weight of the law for what he had said. I am only uncertain, whether a law that is called National Security Act is what is required."
Srinagar, Apr 2: A high-level meeting to be chaired by the Union Home and Defence Secretaries will be held here today to discus the issue of infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir.
Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta and Defence Secretary Vijay Singh will hold discussions with the State Government officials on several issues, including the recent encounters taking place along the Line of Control in North Kashmir and security plans to be put in place for the five-phased general elections.
