Imphal, Sep 1: The faculty and students of the Institute of Cooperative Management recently staged a sit-in protest against the huge monetary demands of some underground groups in the state.
"I and also the people of Manipur do not agree with these anti-social activities. Everyone hates this culture of fear that has gripped the state. I would like to appeal to the militants to stop such activities," said Kh. Pranjit Singh, a student.
Brojendra, another student added, "Militant activities taking place in Manipur are not good. They are ruining the student''s career and time is being wasted. We are not able to pick up the required skills. I feel this is not good."
Imphal, Sept 20 : Terrorists’ excesses and extortion may soon find itself cornered in Manipur, for the people of the state are regularly protesting against the militant high handedness through sit-in protests.
Imphal, Sept 12 : Protests against militancy continue in Manipur with people in the state coming out openly against the highhandedness and brutal activities of the militant groups. The staff of the Sericulture Department recently held a demonstration in West Imphal against underground groups, which have been trying to extort money and threatening officials.
Imphal (Manipur), Sep. 12 : The security agencies in Manipur are happy to notice the increasing public support and cooperation, which is expected to bring an end to militancy in the State. Public support has shown good results during the last few weeks.
