Imphal, Sept 25 : At least three militants were killed in a gunfight by a combined force of 16th Assam Rifles and police commandos here today.

According to sources, security personnel raided Sangaithel area last night following reports of movement of some militants. The militants opened fire when they were asked to stop.

In the ensuing encounter that lasted for 30 minutes, three militants were killed.

One AK 56 rifles, one 9mm pistol, one grenade and several rounds of ammunition were recovered from the spot.

All the bodies were taken to Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital in Imphal for identification and post mortem. (ANI)
