London , Mar. 29 : Intelligence chiefs have cautioned the Gordon Brown Government about the possibility of China launching a cyber attack on Britain’s telecom system.

British Telecom’s new communications network has been installed by Chinese telecom giant ‘Huawei’, which is allegedly funded by Beijing and has links to the People’s Liberation Army.

Islamabad, Mar. 28 : Russia and China may support Pakistan in setting up new nuclear power plants to meet the country's growing energy needs.

According to The Nation sources, Moscow and Beijing are expected to bail out Islamabad from the constraints relating to establishing new nuclear power plants.

The Russia-China offer contains the conditions, that the nuclear power plants offered to Pakistan should be set up under the supervision and in collaboration with International Atomic Energy Agency, sources said.

Beijing  - While the Chinese government on Saturday hailed the 50 years of Communist rule in Tibet as transformative and progressive, Tibetan exiles called the observance of the anniversary "offensive and provocative."

The anniversary was marked by China by its first Serfs Emancipation Day holiday as President Hu Jintao called the changes over the past half-century "the most extensive, profound and progressive social transformation in the history of Tibet."

Bangkok  - China's Tsingtao Brewery Co has set up a joint venture with Thai partners to invest 2 billion baht (55.5 million dollars) in beer production near Bangkok, media reports said Saturday.

Theparak Luengsuwan, one of the Thai investors, said at a press conference that Tsingtao has chosen Thailand over Malaysia for its first-ever overseas brewery partly because of a free trade agreement the kingdom has in place with Australia.

Beijing - The Chinese government and Tibetan exiles on Friday marked the 50th anniversary of communist rule over Tibet with very different slants on the region's history.

Communist Party officials and state-approved Tibetan Buddhist leaders held a seminar in Beijing to celebrate "Serfs Emancipation Day," a newly decreed public event that officially falls on Saturday.
