Taipei - China's effort to secure the return of looted art makes it dangerous for Taiwan to send its treasures for exhibition in China, a Taiwan analyst warned Monday.

In an article carried by the Apple Daily, political analyst Antonio Chiang said China's seeking the return of a bronze rabbit head and rat head - auctioned in Paris by Christie's Wednesday - has cast a shadow over exchanges between Taiwan's National Palace Museum and the Beijing Palace Museum.

Sydney - A cinema chain was Monday accused of censorship for refusing to show a locally made feature film about ethnic tensions between Arabs and white Australians.

Greater Union stopped showing the film about Sydney's Lebanese-Australian enclaves after fights broke out following a screening in Sydney at the weekend, saying it had to "err on the side of the safety of staff and patrons."

Allanah Zitserman, the distributor of The Combination, said Greater Union was practising censorship.

Tokyo  - Japanese electronics company Fujitsu Ltd on Monday said it has reached an agreement with Australia's telecommunications firm Telstra Corp to acquire its information and technology subsidiary.

The Japanese firm intends to expand its business in the Australian market by acquiring all the entire of Kaz Group Pty Ltd, Fujitsu said.

Fujitsu, after expanding its loss forecast for the business year ending March 31 to 50 billion yen (515 million dollars), is refocusing its activities on computer services.

The deal, which amounts to 200 million Australian dollars (127 million US dollars), would make the Japanese firm the third-largest IT services provider by revenue in Australia.

Sydney, March 2 : An Australian computer scientist has developed the world''s first shoe phone, and has even published detailed step-by-step instructions online.

According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald, Paul Gardner-Stephen, the inventor, insists there are practical applications of this phone, including, helping the elderly.

Gardner-Stephen, a post-doctoral fellow in bioinformatics at Adelaide''s Flinders University, made the gadget as a prop for a church camp drama presentation that had a "Get Smart" theme.

But after scouring the web and discovering that no one had created a shoe phone that was fully functional as a phone and could also be worn as a shoe, Gardner-Stephen set himself the challenge.

Melbourne, Mar 2 : An exotic dancer, who was evicted from Brisbane''s Sexpo for being too raunchy, is looking for compensation from organisers after she slipped and broke her nose during a pole-dancing routine.

New Zealander Lisa Lewis, who is a self-proclaimed "international star, exotic dancer and soft porn star", claims that the pole at the Brisbane Convention Centre was "faulty".

The incident took place on February 27, and Lewis said that she had initially told organisers to change it after her first show on February 26.

Melbourne, Mar 2: Australia’s troubled all rounder Andrew Symonds is back with girlfriend Katie Johnson, who has given him stability, only a month after they split.

Johnson was a source of strength when Symonds was dropped from the Australian team, and the break-up was a blow to the all-rounder, who is in his second period of counselling and rehabilitation.

Symonds and Johnson parted ways in December around the same time that Roy was dropped from the Australian squad to tour South Africa, The Courier Mail reported.
