Melbourne, Mar 1 : With the unemployment rate reaching new heights courtesy recession, women in Australia are turning to strip joints and brothels for work.

But those doing the hiring are saying the jobs come with a lot of guilt and "can do your head in", reports The Courier Mail.

With the chance to earn between 1500 dollars and 8000 dollars a week, Rachel Love from the Gold Coast''s Pentagon Grand brothel said she had never seen such an influx.

In Brisbane, the B Confidential gentlemen''s bar is getting 10 to 15 applications a week for women prepared to do lap dances, pole dancing, stage and private shows.

But the job isn''t just dancing and taking your clothes off, owner-manager Lisa says.

Melbourne, Feb 28: More than 90 per cent of women who have boob jobs feel better about themselves, a new Aussie study has revealed.

According The Daily Telegraph, tests on 120 women before and after cosmetic surgery found that 8 per cent had body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), a rate four times higher than in the general population.

"They think they are ugly when they are not," News. com. au quoted clinical psychologist Julie Malone, who conducted the research, as saying.

People with BDD who had cosmetic surgery felt no better about themselves, or in some cases worse.

Canberra (Australia), Feb. 28 : Australian Foreign Minister Stephen Smith has called on Pakistan to make sure it doesn''t sponsor terrorism against India, to shut down Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist networks that operate in the country and make a better effort against the Taliban, besides improving security across the Pakistani-Afghan border.

Smith's statement has been widely welcomed.
