New Delhi - Police in India's north-eastern state of Assam have arrested three men and are investigating whether separatist militants received support from terrorist groups to carry out multiple bombings that claimed 81 lives, news reports said Saturday.
Among those arrested overnight were a man whose car was used in one of Thursday's bombings in the state's capital city of Guwahati, the IANS news agency reported quoting the state's senior police official Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta.
Another arrested man's motorcycle was used in a bombing in the western Bongaigaon district.

Guwahati, Nov 1: Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will visit Assam today to take the stock of the situation after Thursday''s serial blasts in the state in which 70 people were killed and over 300 injured.
Apart from meeting the State Governor Shiv Charan Mathur and Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, the Prime Minister will also visit Guwahati Medical College hospital to see the injured in the blasts.
While strongly condemning the blasts, Dr. Singh said the government would take all possible steps to bring the perpetrators of terror attack to justice.
Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will visit Assam on Saturday to asses the situation there after the serial blasts. More than 75 people died in the Assam blast.
