Radio Pakistan allergic to Congress party, calls it anti-minority
Abohar, March 13 : While the Bharatiya Janata Party, the main Opposition party in Lok Sabha, blames the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre for `dolling out' reservations and other benefits to minority section off and on, Radio Pakistan views the Congress as anti-minority.
Radio Pakistan has blamed Congress party of being an anti-minority party, which was behind carrying out of Blue Star Operation against militants who had turned the Golden Temple into a fortress in 1984.
Inderjeet Singh Sahani, General Secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, called the allegations baseless.
"Pakistan is trying to malign India by publicizing false allegations. When Pakistan tries to improve its relations with India, something backfires there. Whenever Pakistan and India made efforts to establish friendly relations, there have been some forces, which don't let it happen. Radio Pakistan keeps on publicizing wrong statements."
"I joined the Congress in 1959. The Congress has always come to power in India with the support of minorities like Sikhs, Harijans, Khatris, Rode and others. Congress has been in power for many years. I feel happy that I belong to a minority, having come from Pakistan."
Broadcasters of the Radio Pakistan's Punjabi Durbar must know that Congress-led United Progressive Alliance is an amalgamation of several parties including parties like the pro-minority Jana Shakti Party.
Moreover, the Government of India has an exclusive ministry to look after minority interests. It keeps a check and does whatever is required in the best interest of the marginal sections of society. (ANI)
