Uddhav Thackeray, Nitin Gadkari booked for remarks on PMMumbai, Mar 27 : A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Shiv Sena party chief Uddhav Thackeray and Bharatiya Janata Party state president Nitin Gadkari for their alleged derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh recently during an election rally in Mumbai.

"An FIR has been registered against Thackeray and Gadkari for the statements made in their speech on March 20 at the Swan mill compound in central Mumbai," a senior police official from the Kalachowkie police station said.

According to media reports, Thackeray referred to the Prime Minister and the United Progressive Alliance in a derogatory manner while addressing a public rally in Mumbai on March 20.

Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari has urged the Election Commission to take serious note of the incident.

Since his father Bal Thackeray has fallen ill, Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray has not been able to prepare himself and the party for the Lok Sabha election.

Thackeray has been in Lilavati Hospital since February 26, after suffering from fever and infection. Uddhav is at the hospital by his father, and to his Bandra residence only for a bath before returning to the hospital.

Mumbai, Jan 21: Uddhav ThackerayBal Thackeray’s son Uddhav Thackeray was today re-elected as Shiv Sena’s executive president for his second consecutive term at the national executive meeting of the party at the Sena Bhavan here.

Uddhav was first elected as SS’ executive president at a party conclave in 2003.
