London, April 16 : Sir Elton John, actress Angela Lansbury and Tony-winning playwright Arthur Laurents are to be honoured at the 75th Annual Drama League Awards next month for their contributions to Broadway.

The trio will receive special recognition at the ceremony, hosted by Jeremy Irons and Cynthia Nixon, reports the Daily Express.

Drama League honours stars'' achievements in theatre, musical theatre and directing in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.

Washington, Mar 13 : British singer Sir Elton John is set to speak at an upcoming convention of international scientists.

John, 61, will be addressing 20,000 people at the Biotechnology Industry Organisation's annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia, in May this year.

The singer will be discussing the importance of Aids prevention, a cause his charity, the Elton John Aids Foundation, has been working on.

Washington, Feb 20 : Veteran singer Sir Elton John missed a golden opportunity to meet his idol jazz musician Oscar Peterson- because he was too shy.

The 61-year-old singer admitted that Peterson helped shape his musical style.

But failed to garner courage to introduce himself to Peterson when they both found themselves in the same Paris, France restaurant, shortly before his death in 2007, at the age of 82.

London, Feb 6 : English singer songwriter Elton John is reportedly making a guest appearance on rap icon Eminem''s comeback album.

The two had performed a duet together at the Grammy Awards back in 2001, and insiders claim they have reunited to record a track on Relapse, the rapper''s first new album in five years.

Rumours about the two collaborating on an album began to circulate from Eminem''s native Detroit, Michigan last October, after John visited the city while recording for the album was being done.

Washington, January 19 : Sir Elton John is reportedly desperate to have Amy Winehouse perform at his 2009 Oscar bash to ensure its success.

The 61-year-old hosts the party after the Academy Awards every year to raise funds for Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Performers who have obliged him previously have included Mary J. Blige and James Blunt.

And this year, the English singer was said to be eyeing Winehouse to be his chief performer after dubbing her amongst the greatest musicians.

London, December 30 : Sir Elton John has reportedly asked to be transported in a helipad for his New Year''s Eve party at London''s 02 Arena.

The English singer, who was said to be hosting the biggest bash ever, wanted to arrive with hubby David Furnish, since he could not be bothered with using the
underground train, as per a source.

"Elton hasn''t requested anything outrageous, all he''s asked for is a helipad... he simply wasn''t up for getting the Tube," the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

The composer-pianist's gig would reportedly be also transmitted live in New York''s Time Square.
