Melanie Reid, who writes for the Times newspaper, has said that Luhrmann made a "big, big mistake" to cast Kidman for the role of Lady Sarah Ashley.

In the epic movie, Kidman plays the role of an Aussie woman who inherits a remote cattle station shortly before World War II.

She said it had been painful for her and her husband Keith Urban to leave behind their newborn daughter Sunday Rose to attend the premiere of Baz Luhrmann’s epic Australia.

"In terms of my future as an actor I don''t know," News. com. au quoted Kidman, as saying.

"I''m in a place in my life where I have had some great opportunities but I may choose to have some more children.
