Petroleum Ministry sanctions aid to flood hit Bihar

Murli DeoraNew Delhi, Sep 1 : The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has ordered an extra 10, 000 metric tonnes of kerosene for flood victims in Bihar besides sanctioning rupees 50 million rupees as part of its flood aid effort.

Announcing this at a news conference in New Delhi on Monday, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora said that the Government was trying to meet the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) needs of the flood victims free of cost.

A review of Oil PSUs will be undertaken by the Union Minister of Petroleum and Murli Deora To Review Working Of Oil PSUs Natural Gas Murli Deora along with the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the Oil PSUs.

During the review, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dinsha Patel and Petroleum Secretary R.S. Pandey would also be there to discuss the working of the PSU, challenges & problems faced by them and many other various issues.

Murli Deora orders clearing of LPG waitlistNew Delhi, Aug 19 : Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora today asked state-run oil firms to clear the waitlist for new domestic cooking gas (LPG) connections in 60 days.

Deora reviewed the supply and distribution of essential petroleum products in the country at a meeting with heads of oil companies and issued instructions for ensuring adequate supplies in the coming festive season.

“LPG connections will be available on demand,” Petroleum Secretary R S Pandey told reporters on Tuesday.

Murli Deora to review working of oil PSUs

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli DeoraNew Delhi, Aug 19: Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora will meet Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of oil PSUs here today to review PSU working and to discuss various issues, challenges and problems faced by them.

Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dinsha Patel and Petroleum Secretary R. S. Pandey will also be present in the meeting.

The meeting would specially focus on the distribution of petroleum products in the country.

Fuel Prices Cut Ruled Out

Wednesday saw the Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Doera ruling out a Fuel Prices Cut Ruled Out  reduction in domestic fuel prices. In the past two months, there has been a continuous drop in the international crude oil prices and this has also brought the Indian crude basket by 8 percent.

Mr. Deora also informed the reporters, “The fall in prices of crude oil is a very positive and good sign. But … the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) are incurring massive losses due to under-recoveries at various levels.”

Last month, where the crude oil prices were high up to $147, this week it saw a downfall to around $ 113 a barrel.

Murli Deora rules out cutting down fuel prices

Petroleum Minister Murli DeoraNew Delhi, Aug 13: Despite fall in the prices of crude oil to below 113 US dollars a barrel this week, Petroleum Minister Murli Deora today ruled out possibility of reducing the prices of fuel.

Deora told reporters here that the softening of crude oil prices was a welcome development, but there was no scope of decrease in domestic fuel prices.

The Minister pointed out that oil marketting companies like Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum continue to lose money on fuel sales and there were still huge under-recoveries on fuel sales.
