Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan SinghToyako, July 8: On the sidelines of the ongoing G-8 Summit in Japan, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today met Chinese President Hu Zintao. During the meeting, both sides held delegation-level talks.

According to sources, the Chinese President condemned yesterday’s suicide attack on Indian embassy in Kabul in which 41 people were killed and more than 140 injured.

In what is being described as the first attack on any Indian embassy of such magnitude, a suicide bomber rammed his bomb-laden car into the gates of the Indian embassy in Kabul.

Manmohan Singh leaves for Japan G-8 Summit today

Prime Minister Dr Manamohan SinghNew Delhi, July 7: Prime Minister Dr Manamohan Singh will leave for the G-8 summit in Hokkaido, Japan, today.

During the two-day Summit beginning Tuesday, he is expected to meet US President George Bush and discuss the progress of the Indo-US nuclear deal with him.

On eve of his departure, Dr. Singh said that over the years, the country's participation in the G-8/G-5 dialogue process has enabled it to articulate its concerns on a wide range of issues in a forthright manner.
