New Delhi, July 10: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh arrived here late last night after attending the G-8 Summit in Hokkaido, Japan.
During his three-day visit, the Prime Minister met leaders of various countries, including Russia, Britain, Germany, France, and host Japan.
On the sidelines of the Summit, Dr. Singh also met US President George Bush, and both talked about the India-US nuclear deal, and how important it was for both the nations.
Toyako, Japan - US President George W Bush and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh signalled Wednesday that they were making progress on a controversial agreement to sell US nuclear technology to India.
"We talked about the India-US nuclear deal, and how important that is for our respective countries," Bush told reporters.
"We talked about common opportunities, world problems, and we did it in a spirit of respect. And it was easy for me to do because I respect the prime minister a lot. I also respect India a lot," Bush added.
Bush and Singh met on the sidelines of a Group of Eight summit in Japan.
Singh said the relationship between their two countries had "never been in such good shape as it is today," highlighting "progress in nuclear cooperation."
Toyako, July 9: On the sidelines of the ongoing G-8 summit in Hokkaido in Japan, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh today met US President George W Bush.
After the meeting that lasted around 45 minutes at Hotel Windsor Toya, Dr. Singh told reporters that India’s relationship with the US has never been as good as it was now.
"Our relationship with the United States has never been in such good shape as it is today. I am very pleased with the state of our relationship," he said.
