Leona Lewis inks autobiography deal

London, Jan 06 : Popstar Leona Lewis has signed a lucrative deal to pen her autobiography with publishing house Hodder & Stoughton.

In the book, Leona, who is just 23 years old, will be telling about her life and her journey to stardom.

The tome will be launched in October.

"The last two years have been an unbelievable experience for me. So to have it documented in pictures and to be able to tell people in my own words what it feels like means a lot to me," The Sun quoted Leona, as saying.

Leona revealed that she is overzealous about putting her life's memorable moments together in the much-awaited book.

Washington, Dec 18 : Leona Lewis has been named Person of the Year by animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

The `Bleeding Love' singer, who gave up meat when she was 12 years old, was recognised for her commitment to animal welfare - she reportedly refused to open department store Harrods'' winter sale because the shop sells fur.

"Leona Lewis is admired for her beautiful voice, but it''s her kindness to animals that makes her a superstar in our book," Contactmusic quoted PETA Europe Director Robbie LeBlanc, as saying.

Earlier this year, the campaign group crowned the ''Run'' singer - who is working on an accessories line of vegan shoes and bags - Sexiest Vegetarian.

Coldplay, Leona Lewis top iTunes 2008 sales

New Delhi, December 3: Coldplay’s latest album ‘Viva la Vida’ and Leona Lewis’ new single ‘Bleeding Love’ have topped iTunes sales for 2008.

While the Brit alternative rock band’s fourth studio CD became the ‘best-selling album’ of 2008, the Brit pop-R&B singer’s latest release went on to grab the top-selling single title.

Coldplay, whose album had sold more than 2 million copies since its June release, had sell more than 500,000 digital copies, mainly through iTunes, according to the group’s rep.

Jack Johnson’s ‘Sleep Through the Static’ bagged the second best album spot with ‘Juno,’ Lil Wayne''s Tha Carter III’ and Sara Bareilles'' ‘Little Voice’ finishing the iTunes top 5.
