Kia’s EV3 compact electric SUV set to enter Indian market in early 2025

South Korean automaker Kia Corporation recently introduced the world to the latest addition to its EV lineup, the EV3, a compact electric SUV that is slated to enter the Indian market in early 2025. The highly-anticipated roll out of the Kia EV3 e-SUV follows the automaker’s earlier triumphs in the EV segment, viz. the EV9, EV6, and EV5. In other words, the EV 3 is the fourth EV in the company’s electric lineup.

Based on the E-GMP modular platform, the Kia EV3 e-SUV retains the family design ethos that we see in many of its larger siblings. This innovative platform also allows it to incorporate cutting-edge interior technology and eye-catching features that it shares with its higher-end siblings.

The front of the EV features beautiful vertical headlamps with the brand’s iconic “tigerface” design and star map signature lighting concept. Vertically aligned Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) further adds to the design and style of the vehicle. The roofline is slightly sloping, while the prominent rear spoiler and aero-optimized wheels augment the vehicle’s aerodynamic efficiency. Featuring a dual-tone bumper & sleek surfacing tailgate, the rear design of the vehicle is quite similar to the EV9.

When it comes to the interior, the Kia EV3 features a dashboard layout including twin 12.3-inch floating infotainment screens and numerous haptic keys. The two-spoke wheel have been equipped with navigation and media controls. The spacious interior boasts use of sustainable materials, with seats and roof lining made from recycled PET bottles.

The EV3 is available in two battery options: a standard version that comes equipped with a 58.3-kWh battery and a Long-Range version that boasts an 81.4-kWh battery. Both of these electric models feature a front-axle mounted e-motor capable of delivering 201 horsepower and 283 Nm of torque. It takes just 7.5 seconds for the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, while speed tops at 170 km/h. As far as range is concerned, the LR variant can cover a distance of up to 600 km (on WLTP cycle) on a single charge.

With its cutting-edge technology, high-tech specs, and practical design, the Kia EV3 e-SUV underscores the brand’s dedication to innovation and environmental stewardship in the EV landscape. Set to enter the market early next year, this new electric masterpiece is expected to make a significant impact on the Indian EV market and beyond.
