Karachi, Jan 23 : Two senior Pakistan Cricket Board officials -- Javed Miandad and Saleem Altaf -- seems to be on a collision course, suggesting the emergence in the functioning of the Board.

PCB's Director General Miandad on Thursday appeared to be an unhappy man when his name was not included in the organising committee for the final one-dayer between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Lahore on January 24, The News reported.

Karachi, Dec. 31: The Director-General of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Javed Miandad, has rejected chief selector Abdul Qadir's proposal to host a series of trial matches ahead of the home team's upcoming international fixtures.

Qadir failed to impress both Miandad and PCB chairman Ijaz Butt with his idea of playing trial matches which would help the selectors to pick the best possible team for the home assignment apart from providing the players a perfect opportunity to get ready for challenging assignments.

Former Pakistan skipper Javed Miandad jeered at Cricket Australia's plans to host a day-night Test against Pakistan in Adelaide in November next year.

Speaking on this, Miandad said, “No we will not go with this idea as we don't support attempts to spoil the traditional nature of Test matches, which are still the heart and soul of cricket.”

Earlier, it was reported by The Sunday Telegraph that CA would soon seek International Cricket Council's approval for holding the match that will have a 1400 hrs (local time) start.

Karachi, Dec. 12: Keen to make domestic cricket in Pakistan more attractive, former Pakistan cricket captain and now Director General of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Javed Miandad has announced a new format.

Miandad told a press conference here on Thursday that now domestic cricket would not be run on the basis of regions but on the basis of eight associations and eleven departments.

Lahore, Dec. 5 : Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director-General Javed Miandad has said that he is determined and motivated enough to get the country’s first class cricketing infrastructure back on its feet.

“My utmost effort will be to revive domestic cricket that has been destroyed in the past seven years due to unwise steps taken by the previous regimes of the PCB,” he told reporters at the Gaddafi Stadium here on Thursday.

Karachi, Nov 23 : The Indian cricket board (BCCI) has taken a serious note of the comments made by former Pakistan cricket captain Javed Miandad, who was a couple of days ago appointed as the new Director General of the PCB, accusing the BCCI of ‘bullying tactics’.

In one of the interviews after taking up the new assignment, Miandad said that the PCB was under a lot of pressure from the public and the media to include breakaway ICL players in the national team.

He also accused the BCCI of ‘bullying tactics’ which have caused players to suffer.

According to sources, an unidentified BCCI official expressed the Board’s annoyance over Miandad’s comments with a senior PCB official during a telephonic conversation on Saturday.
