Baghdad/Washington  - US President George Bush arrived in Iraq Sunday on a previously unannounced visit - his last to that country before his presidency formally ends next month.

Washington, Dec. 13 : With the US Senate stalemated over offering a credible bailout package for the American auto industry, angry Republicans have urged President Bush to respect the legislative process and consider reversing course and rescuing them on his own.

According to the Washington Times, the failure of the bailout has sparked of a full-blown intra-party war, with several Republicans saying the White House scuttled their efforts to win concessions from the United Auto Workers union.

New York, Dec 10 : United States President George Bush''s long, rambling sentences and grammatically incorrect speeches have finally been acknowledged by a British language watchdog group.

Bush's famous gaffes have won him this year''s not-so-coveted Foot in Mouth Lifetime Achievement Award, reports the New York Daily News.

The Plain English Campaign (PEC) gave the award to mark the departure of Bush from the White House.

Washington  - US President George W Bush and Congress are nearing a deal to approve a 15-billion-dollar bail-out plan for the troubled automotive industry, the White House said Monday.

"Indications are that the legislation is moving more towards what the president could support," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said, adding "it's very likely" the two sides will arrive at a proposal by late Monday.
