Baghdad, Dec. 17 : US President George Bush emerged unscathed from the shoe throwing incident on Sunday, but White House spokeswoman Dana Perino was not so lucky, as she suffered an eye injury in the ensuing melee when she was hit by a microphone.

Iraqi TV journalist Zaidi's family was quoted by the Dawn as saying that his action stemmed from his hatred of the American invasion of their country.

Baghdad, Dec. 16 : The Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at US President George W. Bush has a broken arm and ribs after being struck by Iraqi security agents, his brother told reporters on Tuesday.

Durgham Zaidi was unable to say whether his brother Muntazer had sustained the injuries while being overpowered during Sunday''s protest against Bush''s visit or while in custody later.

Lahore, Dec 16 : It's a classic case of once bitten twice shy! Reporters attending a joint press conference of United States President George W Bush and Afghan President Hamid Karzai were asked to remove their shoes to avoid any `untoward incident'.

A private TV channel on Monday quoted a French reporter as saying that prior to the press conference, Afghan president's spokesman Saimick Herwai appealed to Afghan reporters to give respect to the US President and address him as `his excellency'.

Washington, December 16 : Video of George Bush, depicting the U. S President ducking shoes thrown at him by an Iraqi journalist during a news conference, has become a rapidly growing YouTube sensation.

The footage has taken cyberspace by storm acquiring 11 of the top 20 most-watched videos spot at the video-sharing website while also becoming a forum for anti-Bush campaigners.

Various YouTube users had uploaded different versions of the video, with several videos having more than 500,000 views each, while dozens of versions topped 100,000 views.

Washington, Dec 16 : US President George W. Bush has indicated that drone attacks on suspected terrorist targets inside Pakistan's tribal areas would continue, and added Washington will not consult other governments before ordering such strikes.

"You know very well that when it comes to certain matters, the US government doesn't discuss operations," said Bush when asked if Afghan President Hamid Karzai and he were on the same page on drone attacks.

Washington  - US President George W Bush will leave office next month with some of the lowest job approval ratings ever, with two unresolved conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, and with Osama bin Laden still on the loose.

He'll be leaving behind an economic recession and the US standing in the world at an all time low. President-elect Barack Obama will take his place facing a long list of challenges at home and abroad.
