George Clooney denies renting Italian villa to BecksLondon, Feb 28 : George Clooney has dismissed suggestions that he has lent his Italian villa to British soccer ace David Beckham.

He was reacting to the reports that said that The Los Angeles Galaxy star had moved in to Clooney''s Lake Como retreat, while he plays on loan for Italian club AC Milan.

Clooney reportedly offered the luxurious property to Beckham after mutual friend Giorgio Armani introduced the duo last year.

The LA Galaxy star and Clooney have been friends ever since fashion designer Giorgio Armani introduced them at the Met Ball in New York last year.

George ClooneyWashington, February 25 : Hollywood actor George Clooney, who is a United Nations goodwill ambassador, has denied that his safety was in jeopardy when he visited the African state of Chad with two journalists in an unofficial capacity last week.

He was reacting to recent reports that criticised the U. N. for withdrawing his security escort during the visit he undertook as part of his pledge to highlight the plight of refugees in the war-torn Darfur region.

The actor said that he never felt that his well-being was at risk.

Clooney says White House will appoint Darfur envoy

George ClooneyWashington, February 24 : Hollywood actor George Clooney, who met U. S. President Barack Obama on Monday night, revealed that the White House would be appointing an envoy to war- and famine-ravaged Darfur, Sudan.

"They said they would appoint a full-time, high-level envoy that would report directly to the White House. This would be a huge policy step," Politico. com quoted the actor, who has repeatedly travelled to Darfur, as telling reporters.

"It''s good to hear because there was some concern that this could fall off the radar," he added.

George ClooneyLondon, February 21 : The United Nations is launching a probe into accusations that the organisation had decided to withdraw Hollywood star George Clooney''s security escort during his visit to dangerous area of Africa.

Clooney, a U. N. goodwill ambassador, has visited Sudan's war-torn Darfur region many times to highlight the plight of refugees there.

He is presently travelling the African state of Chad with two journalists in an unofficial capacity, as part of his pledge to help publicise troubles in the area.

Clooney wins appointment with Obama to discuss Darfur crisis

George ClooneyWashington, February 21 : George Clooney has won himself an appointment with US President Barack Obama to find a solution to the crisis-hit Darfur region of Sudan.

The Hollywood heartthrob, who was named a "Messenger of Peace" by the United Nations last year, will try to work a plan with the president to help put an end to a long and gory battle, which is believed to have consumed millions of innocent refugees.

"We want him (Obama) to appoint a high-level, full-time diplomat to negotiate and work hard every day for a peace treaty," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
