Bhubaneswar, Feb 12: Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh will lay the foundation stone of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) here today.
The ceremony will be held at the construction site situated few kilometers south of Bhubaneswar at KANSAPADA ( Khudupur-Taraboi Road ) near Jatni Block Office, Khordha.
This new IIT at Bhubaneswar is part of the eight new IITs that have been established in the country by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Ministry.
New Delhi, Feb. 10, : Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh on Tuesday appealed to all States to raise their budgetary support for education and welcomed members who have been nominated to the reconstituted Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) for the first time.
Addressing the education ministers of all States at the 55th meeting of the CABE, Singh stated that an outlay of Rs. 270 thousand crore has been made available for the Ministry of HRD for the XIth plan as against the Xth plan expenditure of Rs. 58,817 Crore.

Tirupati, Feb 3 : Union Minister for Human Resource Development Arjun Singh will launch the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology here today.
D. Purandeswari, Minister of State for Higher Education will also grace the occasion.
Union Government had approved the Mission in the first week of last month.
The highlights of the components of the Mission will be exhibited during the launch ceremony.
Allahabad, Jan 21 : Union Minister for Human Resource Development Arjun Singh today inaugurated Nehru Gram Bharati Vishwavidyalaya at Dubawal in Allahabad.
He also laid the foundation stone of the Administrative Bloc of the university.
Nehru Gram Bharati Vishwavidyalaya has been established in accordance with the ideals of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, who always wanted the establishment of institutes of higher education in rural areas so that the rural children need not go to cities for higher or technical education.
