Panacea Biotec bags three-year contract worth Rs 1067 crore; Stock up 5%Panacea Biotec, a well-known health management company, has bagged a three-year order worth over Rs 1,067 crore from UNICEF for supplying its EasyFive (pentavalent vaccine).

EasyFive, a combination of five vaccines, is used in immunizing children against five diseases - Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, Hemophilus Influenza.

Pentavalent vaccines are used by United Nations agencies like United Nations Children's Fund to vaccinate millions of children in the developing world. The company claims EasyFive is the world's first fully liquid pentavalent vaccine.

The drug was introduced in India by the company in January 2005.
