Now, Taliban heading towards NWFP’s Kalam ValleyIslamabad, Apr. 27 : Heavily armed Taliban fighters are now reportedly moving towards the Kalam Valley in the upper reaches of the Swat River in Swat in the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP).

According to The News, security forces have nabbed four suspected extremists with heavy weapons at the Khwazakhela check-post in the region.

Local residents said the extremists have set-up checkposts in Kidam and Sataal areas of Bahrain are checking all the vehicles and persons passing from the region.

Sources added that militants have also started armed patrolling in Qambar, situated three kilometres ahead of Mingora on the Peshawar Highway.

Earlier, militants had also blocked the convoy of the security forces in Qambar.

Meanwhile, in another development Swat militants' chief Maulana Fazlullah while holding talks with a 20-member Jirga, headed by Inamur Rahman urged the government to implement the Nizam-e-Adl Regulation in the region as soon as possible.

Fazlullah also demanded that all the Taliban prisoners should be released and security forces be withdrawn from the valley. (ANI)
