New Delhi, July 16 : The under-recovery, or revenue loss, applicable on diesel for the second fortnight effective July 16 has been pegged sharply upwards at Rs. 9.45 per litre, the petroleum ministry said Tuesday.

This compares to the under-recovery of Rs. 8.60 per litre during the first fortnight of July 2013.

"In the case of PDS kerosene and domestic LPG, under-recoveries for the month of July 2013 are Rs. 30.52 per litre and Rs. 368.58 per cylinder, respectively," the ministry said in a statement

Mumbai, July 16 : Although she comes from a film family, Sonam Kapoor is determined to make her own identity without any help from her actor-filmmaker father Anil Kapoor as she feels that scope for growth under a banyan tree is bleak.

"I feel there's very little that can grow under a banyan tree. So, I have tried to create my own path and I have very successfully done it - whether it's through my fashion or movies I choose," said the 28-year-old in a group interview.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna on Monday refused to declare 5,748 missing people as dead; saying that they were only being ‘presumed to be dead’.

However, Mr. Bahuguna also declared that the government would continue with its scheme to provide ex-gratia relief of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of the presumed to be dead.

He added that the ongoing search operations for finding the missing people would also keep running. According to the state government’s official list, a total of 5,748 people are still missing.

In a bid to curb drastic volatility in rupee, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday targeted short-term rupee liquidity, saying cheap liquidity was one of the main causes for the rupee hitting record lows against the U. S. dollar.

The central bank said that it was providing banks with funds at 7.25 per cent (repo rate) from the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF). The central bank now restricted the amount that banks can borrow from the LAF window to 1 per cent of their deposits or net demand & time liabilities (NDTL).

Mumbai, July 16 : "Lootera" received critical appreciation and a mixed response at the ticket window. For the film's lead actor Ranveer Singh, a film's memories are more important than its box office business.

Directed by Vikramaditya Monwane, "Lootera" released July 5.

"I think the most important thing is a film's memory. I don't think collections are the most important thing," Ranveer told reporters Monday on the sidelines of the period drama's success party.
