Mumbai, July 16 : Former American track and field star Carl Lewis watched "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" and he was so deeply moved by the biopic that he called former Olympian Milkha Singh to convey his appreciation.

Confirming the story, the film's director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra said: "Yes, Carl Lewis indeed rang up Milkha Singh after seeing the film. We all hoped Milkhaji's life-story would make an inspirational impact. But we never imagined the impact would be so widespread."

Uber, a popular App-based car service, has said that it is adding fare splitting service to its apps for iOS and Android apps.

The new option will added to the apps through a new update for the Uber iOS and Android apps. The new service will allow people to share the cost of ride through the app. The users will be able to access Fare Split option after requesting a ride. The users will be able to share the cost of a ride via a user's contacts list or by manually entering a phone number. The details will then be confirmed through an text within the app or download it to provide payment info

Josh Williams, the co-founder of Gowalla, who has been working with social networking giant, Facebook, is planning to resign from his job at the company.

Williams has been working as Facebook's product manager of location and events for about a year and half and has decided to leave the social networking company, Facebook said in a release. He has been working as the key person on social network's lead on local initiatives since Facebook integrated struggling startup Gowalla

Bill Gates, the founder of software giant Microsoft, has said at the opening of the Microsoft Research Faculty Summit on Monday that we have entered a "golden age of computing."

He said that the connectivity, data and processing power have been increasing to levels that can help solve many of the world's major problems. Gates took questions from an audience of researchers regarding the works of his Gates Foundation and other developments in the computing world.

New Delhi, July 16 : Canadian mobile handset manufacturer BlackBerry Tuesday launched its Q5 smartphones here priced at Rs. 24,990.

"It is more affordable for the urban youth. It will be available from tomorrow (Wednesday) at all key BlackBerry outlets and the roll-out will be completed by July 20 across India," Sunil Lalvani, managing director for Indian operations, said while launching the product.

Earlier this year, the company launched two more products, which were priced on the higher side - Q10 for Rs. 45,000 and Z10 for Rs. 43,490.
