Centrica Energy has opened its new offshore wind farm near Lincolnshire, which has a total of 75 turbines to power the homes in the area, at an event at the firm's base in Grimsby.

The new wind farm was opened officially opened Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg. The company believes that the 75 turbines in the farm will produce enough energy to power 200,000 homes in the area. The opening of the wind farm is another step to help the country move towards achieving its targets for meeting energy needs from renewable sources.

The Royal Bank of Scotland might be planning to promote Ross McEwan to the post of the chief executive, according to a person closer to the matter.

The RBS needs an approval from the Bank of England's Prudential Regulation Authority and the government to confirm the appointment. There are indications that McEwan might be promoted within the coming days to take over the bank at time when the government is aiming to divest its stake in the institution.

"I am very transparent about my relationships. I mean I will not hesitate to say that I am in a relationship," Sushant told reporters Thursday at the launch of "Gulabi" song from his forthcoming romantic comedy "Shuddh Desi Romance" here.

Chennai, August 1 : The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will continue its cash-tightening measures till the volatility in the foreign exchange market is controlled, said its governor Thursday stressing the importance of a stable exchange rate.

"Having a stable exchange rate is important," D. Subbarao said here while delivering the R. Venkataraman endowment lecture at the Madras School of Economics on 'Dilemmas in Central Banking'.

He said the recent cash tightening measures will not impact growth though there might be short-term pain.

The banking regulator said it is important to bring down inflation.

Mumbai, August 1 : Essar Steel is planning to raise $2 billion through "pre-export finance" and the money will be used for early repayment of rupee debt.

Pre-export finance is the money that is lent against confirmed orders from overseas foreign buyers.

"The move to raise $2 billion will help de-risk the company's balance sheet as the revenues of Essar Steel are dollar denominated or dollar linked and hence provides as a natural hedge for dollar debt," Essar Steel said in a statement.

The company said it had already received necessary approvals for the plan.
