Amritsar, Sep 3 : Sukhbir Singh Badal was Tuesday re-elected as the president of the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal.

Sukhbir, 51, who is Punjab's deputy chief minister, was unanimously re-elected by 445 delegates of the Akali Dal who had assembled here at the Teja Singh Samundri hall at the Golden Temple complex of this Sikh holy city, 250 km from Chandigarh.

Bangalore, Sep 3 : Global software major Wipro Ltd will ramp up its headcount in the Nordic region in northern Europe to have 500 techies over the next three years, the IT bellwether said Tuesday.

"As Nordics is set to emerge as an important growth markets for us, we are committed to investing in the region to serve our customers across industry verticals," Wipro's chief sales and operations executive Rajat Mathur said in a statement here.

The five northern European countries -- Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden -- form the Nordic region.

Telecommunications giant Bharti Airtel has confirmed that it would revise some postpaid mobile rates from 8th of September, a move that will likely make some postpaid customers to fork out up more for making calls.

The largest telecom operator of India has been sending out a message to customers registered under its per-minute billing plan Advantage 199, stating that their mobile phone bill plan will be revised from 8-September-13.

The recently announced steep increase of around 7 per cent in jet fuel prices have pushed the rates to a high of more than Rs 75,000 per kilolitre, which means passengers will soon be made to fork out more for air tickets.

As per figures released by state-owned Indian Oil Corp (IOC), Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) price at Delhi was increased by 6.87 per cent or Rs 4,827.94 per kilolitre to Rs 75,031.09 per kilolitre. The increase took effect from 1st of September.
