Our application for the licence stands: VideoconVideocon Industries on Friday claimed that it had not withdrawn its application for a new bank licence, adding that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) might have committed a mistake in reporting any such move by the company.

The application for a new banking licence was filed by Videocon's Aurangabad-based subsidiary Value Industries Limited.

But, the central bank yesterday posted a release on its website, stating that one applicant, viz. Value Industries, Aurangabad, had rolled back its application.

Revealing the hike, a source from the budget carrier said, "IndiGo has revised upwards its fares, which are now 25 per cent higher than earlier."

By hiking the fares, the domestic carrier joined airlines like SpiceJet, Air India and Jet Airways, which also recently increased airfares by 25 per cent.

Hiking the airfares, all carriers cited increase in input costs.
