Mumbai, Sep 7 : Taj Mohammed Rangrez, a history teacher from Udaipur, created history by becoming the first person to win a whopping Rs. 1 crore on TV reality game show "Kaun Banega Crorepati 2013". He "can't believe it".

All came to a standstill when the show's host, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, tossed the Rs. 1 crore question to hot seat contestant Rangrez. But he answered it correctly to become the first contestant to win the desired title of a 'crorepati' on the seventh edition of the show, which went on air Friday.

Rangrez is ecstatic.

Bangalore, Sep 7 : Indian IT bellwether Wipro Ltd has tied up with the US-based Kana Software to provide customer service solutions to its global insurers through a joint development centre, the company said Saturday.

"As a strategic partner, we have been certified to use Kana's technology for enhancing customer service of its global insurers through our joint development centre," the global software major said in a statement here.

The partnership also provides Kana with systems integration scalability, as Wipro has presence across 57 countries worldwide.

Bangalore, Sep 7 : Reiterating her decision to skip the Japan Open Super Series in Tokyo later this month, World No. 4 Saina Nehwal said she needs more than two weeks of rest to recover after the hectic Indian Badminton League (IBL) that concluded Aug 31.

“Two weeks are not enough for my body to recover and so I am not playing Japan Open. It will not affect my ranking. I do not have any points to defend since I didn’t play there last year also,” the 23-year old said here Saturday.

New Delhi, Sep 7 : The demands for statehood from groups in Assam and some other parts of the country cannot be considered immediately, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said Saturday.

Replying to queries from media persons at his monthly press conference, Shinde said that there were several requests for creation of separate states inlcuding Gorkhaland and Vidarbha.

"Demands are there, can't be considered immediately. When needed, we will consider," he said.

Vilnius, Sep 7 : Germany became the fifth European Union member to sign a statement adopted at the G20 summit in St. Petersburg, calling for "a strong response" to alleged chemical weapons attack by the Syrian government, Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle said Saturday.

"After we saw this excellent and very wise position of the European Union, the (German) Chancellor (Angela Merkel) and myself decided we support the G20 statement," Xinhua reported citing Westerwelle.
