New Delhi - Seeking to regain its lost market share in the mid-sized sedan segment, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today launched an updated version of Verna, priced between Rs 7.74 lakh and Rs 12.19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The model, which competes with Honday City and Maruti Ciaz, will be available in both petrol and diesel options and have ten variants.

"The world sedan will further strengthen our line up in the sedan segment," Hyundai Motor India Ltd Managing Director and CEO B S Seo told reporters here.

The Hyundai Verna has sold over 2.3 million units globally, he added.

Beginning with a substantial share in the mid-sized sedan segment, Verna had started losing out to rivals.

Johannesburg, Feb 18 - Former Pakistan pace spearhead Wasim Akram has expressed his willingness to help Misbah-ul-Haq's side rescue their World Cup campaign after the team's defeat against India in Adelaide.

India extended their unbeaten streak against Pakistan in World Cup to 6-0 after Mahendra Singh Dhoni's men claimed a 76-run win over neighbors.

Speaking on a local news channel, Akram said that neither the Pakistan cricket authorities nor anyone in the team had approached him to help or advise them, Sport24 reported.

Expressing his willingness to help Pakistan team, Akram said that he was there in the World Cup and he wanted to go and help their players adjust and do well in the tournament in those conditions, but he couldn't do that without an invitation, the report added.

Mumbai: Extending gains for the sixth straight session, the benchmark BSE Sensex rose over 105 points in early trade Wednesday as participants indulged in enlarging positions on hopes of faster economic reforms by the government and optimism over the forthcoming Budget.

The 30-share index was trading higher by 105.68 points, or 0.36 percent, at 29,241.56 with stocks of FMCG, realty, capital goods, consumer durables, power, bank and healthcare sectors, leading the rise.

The Sensex had gained 908.46 points in the previous five sessions.

Also, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty edged higher by 31.60 points, or 0.35 percent, at 8,840.95.

Brokers said optimistic buying by participants ahead of the Budget and acceleration in economic reforms by the government, led to the rise.

Mumbai: The rupee depreciated by 10 paise to 62.26 against the dollar in early trade today at the Interbank Foreign Exchange due to appreciation of the US currency overseas.
