Woman explains Smiling Mug Shot after being arrested for Setting Yoga Studio on fire

A Texas woman gave a big smile while posing for a mug shot after her arrest for allegedly setting fire to the yoga studio where she had been taking classes.

According to CBS reports, Nancy "Suzanne" Duarte said that she wanted to relieve stress, so she broke into American Power Yoga with a baseball bat, a can of gasoline and a pack of matches on Saturday.

Duarte is currently in the Dallas County Jail, where she's being held on a $16,000 bond. She told CBS, "Most people can't understand the smiling mug shot".

But, Duarte has reportedly admitted that she thought it was going to make me happy, to burn the place that had brought her so much pain and suffering.

Anna Rahm, a 23-year-old Cal State Northridge student, said she is confident that this will bring change in health care reform. "However, I know that it takes so much advocacy and so much passion. We went into this with an initiative hoping that no matter the outcome, we wanted to get our story out there for everyone to be able to relate to and to learn from", she said.

Olympus issues New Instructions for cleaning Device linked to Superbugs

Olympus Corp is the largest maker of a medical device at the center of recent United States superbug outbreaks. On Thursday Olympus announced that new steps are needed to clean its medical device. The company has issued new cleaning instructions and said that health providers should implement them as soon as possible.

In a 13-page letter, the company said that a small-bristle brush is required to clean potentially deadly bacteria from the devices. According to the company, the brush would be shipped no later than May 8. The device maker didn't announce whether it is safe to use the devices, called duodenoscopes, until the hospitals receive the brush. The company said that health provider can clean the device in accordance with the old instructions.

A recently conducted study has helped researchers better understand the DNA of Icelanders. Researchers in the study considered a single nation as participants and country as a laboratory.

In order to find new drugs and understand more deeply the evolution of humans, scientists at Amgen's DeCode Genetics sequenced the genomes of more than 1 in every 100 people in the Iceland.

Biopharmaceuticals company Amgen's study followed a theory that mutant genes might unlock the secrets of future medicine by finding rare human outliers whose DNA protects them from ailments that others suffer.

For the very first time, the US health authorities are launching an advertisement to counteract the growing popularity of e-cigarettes. Starting next week, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is launching the latest in its series of advertising campaigns designed specifically to sway Americans' feelings about cigarettes.

Indiana declares Public Health Emergency over Drug-related HIV Outbreak

Indiana's Governor Mike Pence has declared a public health emergency due to a rapidly spreading, intravenous drug use-linked HIV outbreak in a rural southern county.

According to health officials, since December around 72 people, all tied to Scott County, have got infected in southern Indiana, and another seven have preliminary positive HIV infections. In Scott County around five cases are seen every year.

On Wednesday, Pence has said that he is looking forward for a needle-exchange program as part of the public health emergency. He formally declared the program on Thursday.
