Washington, Nov 18 : NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) has recently observes the return of giant sunspot that produced mid-level flare on Nov. 16, 2014.

The SDO, which watches the sun constantly, captured an image of the event. Solar flares are powerful bursts of radiation. Harmful radiation from a flare cannot pass through Earth's atmosphere to physically affect humans on the ground; however, when intense enough, they can disturb the atmosphere in the layer where GPS and communications signals travel.

Washington, Nov 18 : A new research has explained that people who work in the night shifts are likely to burn less energy during a 24-hour period as compared to those who work on a normal schedule which ultimately increases their risk for weight gain and obesity.

The new study led by the University of Colorado Boulder suggested that people who work, and therefore eat, at night when their bodies are biologically prepared to sleep are prone to put on pounds.

London, November 18 : Former England captain Andrew Strauss admitted that the team has been too 'fearful' of getting out and thus fail to hit runs in one-day internationals.

Strauss believes that England players have played too fearfully even during his own tenure as a captain. According to him, the team wouldn't make 400 plus runs unless they have got the confidence to do so. He further said that it was not the strategy, but the players that haven't performed well, the BBC reported.

London, Nov 18 : A report has said that tech giants and internet companies are lobbying to curb United States National Security Agency surveillance powers and to demand greater transparency on government data requests.

The Reform Government Surveillance coalition, consisting of Facebook, Google, Twitter, Microsoft and Apple, has thrown its weight behind a bill which will restrain mass data collection from emails and internet metadata, reported The Guardian.

The bill will also allow tech companies to disclose the number and types of data demanded by the government.
