Jerusalem  - Israel's ban on allowing building materials into Gaza is hindering reconstruction work on the tens of thousands of homes destroyed in the Israeli offensive, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency said Wednesday.

"The list is long and the need is urgent but the total ban on building supplies remains in force," UNRWA Spokesman Christopher Gunness told a news conference in Jerusalem, held to mark two years since Israel imposed a blockade on the Gaza Strip.

New Delhi, June 17 : Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday said the law and order situation in West Bengal is deteriorating fast because of the Maoists violence in that state's West Midnapore District.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is considering the option of hosting matches of Pakistan's share of 2011 World Cup in Abu Dhabi and Dubai as demanded by Pakistan Cricket Board.

ICC president David Morgan said that the matches of Pakistan' share could be relocated among India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka but we are also considering other option of shifting these matches to another country.

Pakistan was removed as co-host of the ICC World Cup 2011 due to security concerns after terrorist attack on Sri Lankan team in Lahore. Pakistan has threatened to move to court against this decision of ICC.
