East Bengal is keen to sign Indian football team captain Baichung Bhutia for the season 09-10 as the club is ready to wait for release of Bhutia by his current football club Mohun Bagan.

East Bengal secretary Kalyan Majumdar said that the officials of their club have talked with Bhutia and their club will wait until Mohun Bagan releases Bhutia officially.

Bhutia has met informally with the senior officials of the East Bengal club, which was left by Bhutia in 2006, and talked on various terms and conditions to join the EB.
