England stunned Australia
England women team has stormed in to the finals after registering a stunning run chase against Australia in the semifinal of the ICC T20 World Cup at the Oval on Friday.
S Taylor, the 2009 Wisden Women Cricketer of the Year, played a remarkable inning of 76 runs not out as England recorded highest run chase of the tournament.
Australian women scored a huge total of 163 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs after the England woman skipper C Edwards won the toss and elected to field first.
L Poulton was top scorer for the Australian team as she scored 39 runs while L Marsh was most economical bowler for the England team who took one wicket for just 12 runs in her 4 overs.
Chasing target of 164 runs, England got to a bad start as they lost their two wickets for just 43 runs on the board but after that the woman of the match, Taylor and B Morgan
(46 not out) batted very well and England won the match in 19.3 overs.
England will now play in the final against New Zealand at the Lords on Sunday.
