Mumbai June 22 : The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark sensex crossed over 140 points in opening trade, thanks to the capital inflows by foreign funds, and signals of stability from the other Asian markets. Continuing its rising pace for the second consecutive session, the 30-share index, which was pitched at 256.36 points in the last session, collected another 140.40 points, to register 14,662.29 in opening trade. The leading Asian markets like Hong Kong''''''''''''''''s Hang Seng was up 2.25 percent, while Japan''''''''''''''''s Nikkei rose 0.30 percent in morning trade.

After the huge success of holding a global screenwriting workshop recently, celebrated actor-director Kamal Haasan is all set to produce, direct and act in some short films - based on the Tamil Nadu capital, Chennai.

Giving this information to the media persons, Kamal said: “It would be about 30 short films about this city called Chennai. We will begin with Chennai, we will go to other cities as well. We are not making documentaries. It's about the fictional world of writers as they look at Chennai.”

London, June 22 : Barcelona president Joan Laporta wants striker Samuel Eto'o to ignore Manchester City's millions and stay at the Nou Camp for life.

The Cameroon striker is on Mark Hughes' wish list, as the City boss looks to spend his massive transfer fund.

Tehran, June 22  Archeological studies have found that the female inhabitants of Iran's ancient site of Burnt City outlived the male members of their community.

Men died between the ages of 35 to 45, while women lived well into their 80s, Farzad Forouzanfar, head of the Burnt City archeology team, told Press TV.

Forouzanfar said that the area witnessed considerable population drops and that the number of the female inhabitants of the area was more than the males.
