Prague - The Czech Foreign Ministry summoned the head of Iran's diplomatic mission in Prague on Monday and "categorically rejected" allegations that the European Union has meddled in Iran's internal affairs.

The Czech Republic, which chairs the EU until June 30, also asked other member states to summon senior Iranian diplomats to protest against such claims and relay EU's position on the post-election developments.

Srinagar, June 22 : Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday suspended four policemen, including the then Superintendent of Police, on recommendations of a one-man probe panel into the alleged killing of two women in Shopian on May 29.

The Commission, which was appointed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on June 3, submitted the interim report to the state government after examining more than a dozen witnesses, including the then Superintendent of Police.

Washington  - Iran's one-time crown prince Reza Pahlavi said Friday that week-long protests in his country were supported by much of the military and clerical establishment and could end up bringing down the entire Islamic government.

Pahlavi, who has sought an end to the Islamic regime since his father was deposed in the 1979 revolution, said he had sources within the military and intelligence indicated they were ready to switch sides.

Pirakata (West Bengal), June 22 : Over a thousand villagers including women and children have fled their homes and taken refuge in relief camps, as police intensified its assault on Maoist rebels in Lalgarh on Monday.

They have taken shelter at the relief camp at a government school, Pirakata of West Midnapur district which was opened on Sunday by non-government organisations
(NGOs).
