Washington, June 23 : A new study has determined that it apparently took a long time to get the Agricultural Revolution off the ground, with discoveries at a Jordan site indicating that ancient granaries, more than 11,000 years old, preceded the advent of modern agriculture.

Excavations at Dhra' near the Dead Sea in Jordan have uncovered remnants of four sophisticated granaries built between 11,300 and 11,175 years ago, about a millennium before domesticated plants were known to have been cultivated there.

Radiocarbon measurements from charred wood indicate that each structure was used to store wild plants for no more than 50 years, the first beginning around 11,300 years ago and the second starting shortly after abandonment of the first.

Sydney - A 35-year-old Australian man has died of respiratory failure in a Melbourne hospital after testing positive for swine flu, state health authorities in Victoria said Tuesday.

Rosemary Lester, Victoria's acting chief medical officer, stressed that the patient had underlying health problems when he was admitted Friday.

"He was intubated and ventilated to assist his breathing and transferred to the intensive care unit at Maroondah Hospital the same day," she said.

He died Saturday and subsequent testing showed that he had swine flu.

London, June 23 : Up to 30 young women are to be questioned by Italian prosecutors in connection with parties thrown by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, it has been reported.

Prosecutors will begin questioning the girls later this week.

La Repubblica newspaper had claimed that the women, including Eastern European models, were recruited to attend at least five parties thrown by Berlusconi at his mansion in central Rome and his villa on Sardinia''s exclusive Costa Smeralda, reports The Telegraph.

Previous studies have shown that music with faster tempos resulted in increased breathing, heart rate and blood pressure.

And when the music was paused, breathing, heart rate and blood pressure decreased, sometimes below the beginning rate. Slower music caused declines in heart rates.
